Seung Sub “Elvis” Kim is a skilled intellectual property attorney, specializing in patent litigation and counseling. Early in his career, Elvis gained invaluable legal experience as a paralegal for the New York County District Attorney’s Office, where he drafted thousands of criminal misdemeanor complaints and worked closely with law enforcement to determine appropriate charges. He further expanded his legal expertise by clerking with Cargill through a legal diversity program.

Transitioning into the field of intellectual property law, Elvis joined Carlson Caspers after graduating from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he served as the Managing Editor of the Minnesota Law Review. His work spans a wide array of sectors, with a particular emphasis on pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology companies. Elvis has extensive experience managing all phases of litigation, including fact discovery, depositions, and expert reports. Beyond litigation, Elvis also specializes in patent prosecution, notably for pharmaceutical clients.

Outside the office, Elvis is a dedicated athlete who enjoys pickleball and tennis and has a growing interest in collecting vinyl records.
