Katie Colvin is a patent attorney and intellectual property litigator with nearly 12 years of experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in federal and international litigation. She has experience in disputes involving patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets, representing large and small companies across a variety of industries and technologies, including telecommunications, manufacturing and consumer products, such as pet, automotive repair, and powersports vehicle products. Katie’s practice also has a strong foundation in business litigation, independent contractor counseling/litigation, and product liability matters.
Whether it is enforcing intellectual property in litigation, defending against allegations of infringement, helping obtain protection for clients’ IP, or anything else for a client – the client’s business and ultimate interests shape the strategy and solutions Katie seeks to provide. Katie eschews a cookie-cutter approach to client needs; she treats each client on a case-by-case basis, using her problem-solving craft to provide innovative solutions. Clients trust Katie to serve as a dedicated advocate and friend in all facets of a dispute, as well as throughout a client relationship.
In recent years, she has handled significant trade secret litigation matters, including successfully trying and retrying a high-profile trade secret damages case. Katie has also advised and litigated on a dispute involving novel issues of international copyright infringement.
