Ecolab charged Paraclipse with infringement of its patent directed to flying insect traps, but the jury found that Ecolab’s patent was not infringed. On appeal, the Federal Circuit reversed the jury verdict because it was based on an improper claim construction. 285 F.3d 1362 (Fed. Cir. 2002). The case settled favorably to Ecolab during remand.
